EPC - What is it?
- All commercial buildings will require an Energy Performance Certificate at the time of Sale, Rent or Construction. This will be a legal requirement for both new and existing buildings.
- The Process is being introduced gradually with the following phase in dates:
- April 6th 2008 onwards - All buildings over 10,000m2
- July 1st 2008 onwards - All buildings over 2500m2
- October 1st 2008 onwards - All buildings
- It applies to all non domestic buildings
- The certificate indicates the energy performance of the building shown as a Carbon Dioxide Index
- The Certificates provides a Building Energy Asset Rating on a scale of A to G
